At-Home Snow Experiment Kit
Make Gallons of Fluffy Snow in Seconds
Snow is a seasonal phenomenon that, unfortunately, can’t be brought inside for study and play. In some areas of the country, it won’t ever snow. With the original fake snow polymer, that is no longer a concern — the Insta-Snow® Kits from Steve Spangler Science deliver realistic, fluffy snow that can be dried out and reused countless times. Insta-Snow isn’t just a cool demonstration. Educators have found it useful in early childhood settings and in chemistry classes for advanced scientists.
No matter what quantity of Insta-Snow you choose, you’ll get all of the materials you need, including instructions and scientific background. Each kit comes with the wow factor and a ton of scientific applications. This kit is recommended for children ages four and older with adult supervision.
What can we learn from Insta-Snow?
Explore the ever-changing science of polymers as students experiment with instant snow. Each Insta-Snow product comes with an activity guide with science fair project suggestions and extra ways to play with polymers.

Make It Snow Any Time of Year
The science of polymers is fascinating and fun for anyone over the age of 4 to learn with the Blizzard in a Box Kit from Steve Spangler Science. The main focus of the kit is the Insta-Snow® Powder that, when you add water, turns into a snow-like polymer that expands up to 100 times its volume. Children can add food coloring to make displays of rainbow snow and the kit includes instruction cards for nine different experiments for even more fun. The snowball and block molds can be used to create all sorts of polymer structures, like snowmen and igloos, that will engage the children’s creativity and give them the opportunity to explore the possibilities in their own way. The Blizzard in a Box Science Kit from Steve Spangler Science is a great way for kids to play with snow any time of the year while developing a lifelong interest in science.

The Insta-Snow can be reused if taken care of properly. You don’t want to store it in an air tight container when the snow is wet. Let it air dry completely and when the “snow” feels coarse again, you are good to store it away in an air tight container or zipper-lock bag. We also recommend washing your hands before playing with the snow to avoid germs and bacteria getting into the snow.

My 5 year old received this for Christmas and was so excited! The kit is high quality with great laminated cards and lots of activities to try. Everything worked EXACTLY as it said, which doesn’t always happen with things bought online. I would highly recommend this for a classroom science lesson or homeschool group. The beauty of this is you can dry out the snow and use it again and again and again!
