Kids go crazy for this ooey, gooey, slippery, sticky, real slime!
Throw a slime day and you’ll be an instant hit. But don’t forget that underneath all of the stirring and mixing are some interesting science lessons. Making slime is a great way to learn about concepts like states of matter, cross-linking of polymers, material synthesis, chemical bonding, and more. Try your hand at using slime as a writing prompt to get those creative ideas flowing.
This kit comes with everything you need to make 64 oz of the best slime on the market today. You’ll also receive 24 mixing cups, stirring sticks, and zip-lock bags for students to take home their perfect batch of slime.
How does it work?
Spangler Slime is simple to make… Just mix 2 oz (60 mL) of slime solution with one teaspoon (5 mL) of cross-linker solution. Mix for 30 seconds to make a perfect batch of gooey, stretchy slime. Keep your slime in a zipper-lock bag for safe storage. Also, keep off of carpets, wood surfaces, or any place you think slime will cause damage.
What does it teach?
Making slime is a great way to introduce the concepts of changes in states of matter (from a liquid to a solid), to demonstrate the process of cross-linking long chains of molecules, and to explore the science of polymers. Making slime is a perfect Halloween activity. Use slime to teach students about states of matter as two liquids mix to become a solid.
